The Mechanism
RAID 1 protects against hardware failures, but it cannot protect against logical data corruption. Because the controller mirrors everything in real-time, any command executed on Drive A is instantly copied to Drive B.
  • Malware & Ransomware: If ransomware encrypts the file system, both drives are encrypted simultaneously.
  • Operating System Crashes: A sudden blue screen or kernel panic during a critical system update can corrupt the file allocation table on both drives at once.
The Impact on RAID 1
The array remains healthy from a hardware perspective, but the data inside it becomes completely corrupted or unusable.

Critical Notice: Physical Damage & Hardware Policy

Please be advised that ANY damage that is physical or mechanical in nature requires additional parts and labor.
The baseline mechanical recovery rate covers our cleanroom environment entry, laboratory equipment allocation, and initial micro-engineering setup. Because physical failures require sourcing exact matching donor drives from our global component pipeline to swap out broken read/write head assemblies, seized spindles, or damaged electronics, all components, replacement donor hardware, and extended mechanical bench labor will be billed as additional standalone costs following your diagnosis.
