When an SSD experiences severe electrical or physical damage, the thermal controller can malfunction, incorrectly reporting that the drive is overheating. To protect the hardware, the drive immediately triggers a thermal shutdown or an infinite throttle loop, rendering the device completely unresponsive to recovery equipment. Inside our certified Class 100 ISO 5 clean room, engineers execute precision micro-jumpering to bypass these faulty thermal safety locks.
Using high-magnification stereomicroscopes, technicians map the diagnostic test points and circuit traces surrounding the thermal monitoring chip. Using ultra-fine copper jump wires (often less than 0.02mm thick), engineers carefully bridge specific signal lines to send a hardware-level "normal temperature" signal directly to the main SSD controller. This micro-jumpering operation overrides the false overheating state, allowing the drive to stay powered on long enough for technicians to clone the raw data before the underlying circuitry permanently fails.
