⚠️ EMERGENCY CHECKLIST
If your Mac Studio has failed, read this before taking action:
-
❌ Do NOT Attempt a "DFU Restore"
Apple Support often suggests a "Revive" or "Restore" via Apple Configurator 2 to fix boot issues. WARNING: A DFU Restore often requires wiping the SSD modules to re-pair them with the logic board. This makes data recovery impossible.
-
❌ Do NOT Swap SSD Modules
Moving your storage modules to a different Mac Studio will not allow you to access your files. The data is encrypted by your specific logic board’s Unique ID.
-
❌ Do NOT Continue Trying to Boot
If the drive is making noise or the system is freezing, every attempt to boot runs background maintenance tasks (like TRIM) that can permanently overwrite lost data. Unplug the device immediately.
-
❌ Do NOT Replace the Logic Board Yet
Standard repair shops will replace the faulty logic board to make the computer work again. This destroys your data keys. You must recover the data before any hardware replacement occurs.
Stop Use Immediately. Call Seattle Data Recovery.
